CLA is produced from Linoleic Acid (LA), which is part of a family of isomers found in CLA. CLA fatty acids are also known as CLA isomers. CLA is primarily found in select meats, dairy products, and other food items. And, since the body does not produce this fatty acid, it must be obtained through the diet or supplementation. Studies have shown that when dietary amounts of CLA are increased, CLA levels in body tissues increase, which can help maintain lean body mass.
